Personal

I've started mounting my work at home in second hand photo frames - yes a cheap but effective way of preserving my work. and I think it looks really good!

Editing squirrel picture

Update on Acrylic free paper Red Squirrel

Its amazing how  a little color can really bring a picture to life!

PAPER STRETCHING

PAPER STRETCHING

So due to the paper wrinkles in my latest animal portraits, I've decided to listen to my tutors advice and try 'paper stretching' which is where you wet a piece of paper and tap it flat to a board using Gum tape.  When the paper dries you can paint on it and as it will have been 'stretched' it wont wrinkle or flake when you paint on it.

So so far five of my pictures have been just spontaneously done on plain free paper - now the other five I will do on the stretched paper and we shall see the results in future posts hopefully! ^_^

Have a good one!

EDITING MY PAINTINGS.

I can personally advise the website 'BEFUNKY' photo editor - it is a brilliant site that you can edit your photos on. Anything from messing with the colours, resizing, upping the contrast, lowering it, adding text and borders - it is simply fantastic. i was wondering what my photos would look like with a little extra Umph - and these are the results! Enjoy and don't forget to leave a comment. If any of you out there would like me to do an animal portrait of anything - be it a beloved pet or just your favourite animal, contact me on my Email or Mobile number and well discuss prices. Each of these took about two days to do each - apart from the platypus-  he took the best part of a week.

Update on Animal portraits

drawing and painting a platypus certainly is an unusual thing for me....i have only ever seen one once and as they are not a common occurrence you can imagine how difficult it would be to recreate one
but i think its going well :)

WELCOME!

HIYA GUYS!

Ok first of all, inspiration for my title was the tiger dwarf I invented as one of my first creations at university; I thought that would be a nice little memory - keeping that little character alive in other than pictures. ANYWAY HELLLLOOOO! This is my blog and from now on i will try to be a bit more formal but this is it! On here are examples of projects I've got on at the moment as well as free time creations I make - also included some of my photography that i do as a hobby as well as my sewing creations such as dresses, quilts and pillows.

Enjoy, and if you like any of my work get in touch with me on my mobile; 07583842675 or email me at Axel_michellebrooks@hotmail.co.uk
